What is the warranty on the BusBiker?

A 2-year manufacturer's warranty applies to all items you buy from us. You are also entitled to the legal guarantee. Legal guarantee means that a product is or must do what the consumer can reasonably expect from it.

1. The warranty conditions apply to new BusBikers, which a consumer has purchased directly from BusBiker Europe BV or an authorized BusBiker dealer.
2. No warranty can be invoked:
Without the original purchase receipt from BusBiker Europe BV or an authorized BusBiker dealer.
3. With regard to the BusBiker, BusBiker Europe BV gives a warranty on material, manufacturing and factory assembly errors. The warranty includes all components that ensure that the BusBiker is operational, with the exception of wearing parts.
4. The warranty period commences on the delivery date as stated on the original invoice of the relevant BusBiker.
5. Provided the warranty conditions are met, BusBiker Europe will repair or replace the defective part in such a way that the BusBiker is operational again in the reasonable opinion of BusBiker Europe BV.
6. Wear is excluded from the warranty. The following parts of the BusBiker are in any case subject to wear ("wearing parts"): bike holders, rubber protective parts, locking mechanism, wheel blocks, locking straps and the paint.
7. The warranty will lapse:
Irresponsible, reckless, incorrect, incompetent or improper use of the BusBiker. This is the case, among other things, if the BusBiker is used for purposes other than the transport of bicycles (including luggage boxes, scooters, overloading, etc.) or if the instructions have not been followed;
When a defect or damage cannot be attributed to BusBiker Europe. This is the case, for example, in case of damage as a result of a collision or the BusBiker getting into water;
If the BusBiker (or parts thereof) has been repaired, modified and / or overhauled by a party other than BusBiker Europe or an authorized BusBiker dealer, or if original parts have been replaced by unofficial parts. In this case, all warranty or other rights with regard to the entire BusBiker may lapse;
If the BusBiker has not been maintained or not in accordance with the maintenance obligation (paragraph 11);
If the duty to report has not been met (paragraph 12);
After expiry of the relevant warranty period.
8. Material discolouration or effects of salts and chemicals are not covered by the warranty.
9. The BusBiker must be maintained in accordance with the instructions.
10. Warranty and service work takes place in one of the BusBiker service centers. Only BusBiker Europe determines whether warranty or service work is carried out outside a BusBiker service center.
11. The following turns are mandatory:
• Maintenance / adjustment 12 months after purchase.
12. We recommend that you regularly clean the BusBiker, the use of a high-pressure cleaner is not recommended. The rear lights are only splash proof.
13. Defects or damage that affect the operation of the BusBiker must be reported to BusBiker Europe BV immediately - and in any case within 48 hours after detection. A report by telephone must be confirmed in writing (including e-mail) within three (3) working days. The notification must contain at least the following information: Serial number, copy of purchase invoice, date of purchase, date of defect / damage and the possible cause of the defect or damage.
14. If parts are so defective or damaged that they have (partially) come loose from the BusBiker, these loose parts must be carefully stored until the next moment that they can be handed over to BusBiker Europe BV.
15. If there is a legal warranty, BusBiker Europe BV will carry out the repair or replacement in one of its BusBiker service centers free of charge. For additional warranty, BusBiker Europe BV will bear the material costs for the defective part and BusBiker Europe BV is entitled to charge all other costs, including the costs for labor.
16. If BusBiker Europe BV finds after investigation that no or limited warranty applies, BusBiker Europe BV is entitled to charge all costs involved in the repair and / or replacement, including the investigation costs.
17. At the discretion of BusBiker Europe BV, any part that BusBiker Europe BV or service center replaces during a repair or service can automatically become its property. BusBiker Europe BV does not owe any compensation for this.
18. Any use of the BusBiker after a defect or damage has been established is at the expense and risk of the consumer or user of the BusBiker; BusBiker Europe BV is neither responsible nor liable for (further) damage resulting from this use. Liability of BusBiker Europe BV for indirect or consequential damage, including loss of income, immaterial damage, loss of use is excluded.
19. Choice of law: All agreements of BusBiker Europe BV are governed by Dutch law. The place of jurisdiction is Gelderland District Court.
